About Victoria

Victoria’s enthusiasm for life and love of communicating was evident at an early age. Most 5-year-olds would not have freely approached strangers in Budapest’s coffee shops and markets. Nor would they have stood on top of tables in restaurants and belted out their favourite songs — and then asked the “audience” to give them feedback about what they thought about the performance. Unless you were “Little Revay.” Her love of performance, music and fearless attitude was always a propelling force in her life. This probably explains why by the age of 7, Victoria was a member in the prestigious “Hungarian Radio and Television Children’s Choir, ” where she had paid “gigs” in top productions such as Bizet’s Carmen, Puccini’s Turandot and “Les Mis.” That same enthusiasm and curiosity about people was probably what led Victoria to discover her love of writing and broadcasting, which led her to her to pursue her dreams of being a broadcaster/journalist and on-air personality.

From UBC to graduating BCIT’s Broadcast Journalism program, Victoria’s experiences have taken her from the newsrooms of ABC in New York to the table where THE “Barbara Walters” sits on The View. In Vancouver, Victoria worked at BCTV on Global and even filled in for Pia Shandel’s show on CFUN 1410 am as a radio producer. After a brief stint in Los Angeles as an entertainment publicist, Victoria moved back to Vancouver and moved platforms as she transitioned “online” working in new media. In 2006, Victoria was a channel editor, citizen-journalism “hustler” and video presenter for Nowpublic.com, a Vancouver start-up and a company TIME Magazine called a “Best of Website for 2007″.

In the last year, Victoria has appeared as a new media expert and trend/lifestyles expert on shows such as City TV’s “Breakfast Television”, CKNW 980 and CBC radio and the Leo Laporte Show on G4Tech TV. She has also hosted the web casts for FMA 2004, an event that fuses fashion and music to raise funds for charity and the Stripped Concert Series. Victoria’s a regular on the social pages and was named one of Malcolm Perry’s (Vancouver Sun entertainment guru) “most beautiful cocktails for 2007″ after he saw her jazz performance at Capone’s Restaurant and Jazz Bar in swanky Yaletown. In her free-time, Victoria is the Vancouver City Editor for Sweetspot.ca, a national online lifestyles magazine and has been published in her first travel guide sponsored by Blackbook Magazine/Guess by Marciano.

This “About Victoria” page is about to get really interesting in a MAJOR way. It is just getting started, so to speak as many things are in the works and/or coming to fruition. So stayed tuned and check back frequently, okay?
